This configuration is typical of a concentrated Sodium Hypochlorite dosing application. The chemical is being dosed at a rate of anything between 500 ml and 3 litre per hour. The water line runs at 3 or 4 Bar pressure.
This particular unit is equipped with a switch plug option.
The switch can be a float switch which will stop the pump should the acid level in the supply tank drop to empty.
The switch can also be used to stop and start the pump remotely via a controller or a timer or a remote manual switch.

Solar-Powered Borehole & Water Treatment

Borehole water in South Africa frequently contains elevated levels of iron, manganese, hardness, or bacterial contamination — all of which require accurate chemical dosing to address.
In remote locations where grid power is unavailable or unreliable, the SM-DX provides the same stepper-motor accuracy as its grid-powered sibling — operating directly from a 24V DC solar power system without an inverter.
The switch actuation option means the SM-DX doses only when water is actively flowing from the borehole pump — preventing over-dosing during standby periods and eliminating the need for complex control systems in remote installations.
pH Adjustment & Water Treatment Chemical Dosing
pH adjustment demands the finest degree of dosing precision.
A small overcorrection with sulphuric acid or caustic soda can swing pH dramatically —
making accurate low-flow dosing capability essential
Sulphuric acid (H₂SO₄), hydrochloric acid (HCl) and citric acid dosing for pH reduction. The DOSECO SM-Series PVDF/PTFE wetted parts provide compatibility with concentrated acid solutions. Accurate low-flow dosing prevents dangerous pH undershoot.
Applications: Industrial effluent neutralisation, boiler feed water conditioning, swimming pool pH control, irrigation water pH management.
Caustic soda (NaOH) and soda ash (Na₂CO₃) dosing for pH elevation. Accurate stepper-motor metering prevents wasteful overdosing of these expensive reagents — particularly important at the low demand flows typical of off-peak treatment cycles.
Applications: Acid mine drainage neutralisation, water softening pre-treatment, boiler alkalinity control, food process water conditioning.
Aluminium sulphate, ferric chloride, and polyelectrolyte flocculant dosing. The anti-cavitation suction stroke control of the DOSECO stepper-motor pump ensures consistent uptake of these viscosity-variable chemicals — a known weakness of solenoid technology at low flow rates.
