Doseco Dosing Pump Selection Data
Doseco dosing pumps are really easy to identify in terms of the model capability and suitability for handling various chemicals.
It is good practice to know the codes so that one does not use the wrong pump construction materials approved for the chemical being metered.
We have linked a downloadable WhatsApp MOC QUICK COMPATIBILITY GUIDE BELOW to assist with product selection.
Once you have that, the rest of the instructions below will make more sense.

Doseco dosing pump model options
The DOSECO Pump Models have the flow and pressure rating in their Model designation.
The respective minimum flow rate at the maximum pressure.
However these units will generate a far higher flow at lower pressures.
FOR EXAMPLE
Model 1/7 (1 liter per hour flow and 7 Bar max pressure)
Model 3/7 (3 liter per hour flow at 7 Bar maximum pressure)
Model 6/5 (6 liter per hour flow at 5 Bar maximum pressure)
Model 9/3 ( 9 liter per hour flow at 3 Bar maximum pressure)
Model 10/10 ( 10 Liter per hour flow at 10 Bar maximum pressure)
Model 100/1 (100 liter per hour flow at 1 Bar Maximum pressure)
DOSECO Dosing Pump Model Selection Examples
DOSECO Dosing Pump Model SMDY 6/5 (V)
SM = Stepper Motor
DC = DC POWER SUPPLY
Y = PVDF PUMP HEAD/INJECTION VALVE AND SUCTION FOOT VALVE
6/5 =6 litre per hour minimum flow at 5 Bar maximum pressure
(V) = VITON SEALS
DOSECO Dosing Pump Model SMAX 6/5 (E)
SM = Stepper Motor
A = AC POWER SUPPLY
X = PVC PUMP HEAD/INJECTION VALVE AND SUCTION FOOT VALVE
6/5 =6 litre per hour minimum flow at 5 Bar maximum pressure
(E) = EPDM SEALS
How To Select The Right Dosing Pump Example
What is the duty the dosing pump needs to satisfy?
Borehole water is pH5.2 and we need to elevate to 7 or 7.4 – Duty is pH control
What is the chemical being dosed?
Sodium Hydroxide 12%
What is the estimated maximum volume the dosing pump must inject into the fluid stream? (Liter/Hour)
The water treatment contractor estimates a maximum of 1 liter per hour
What is the minimum dosage? (Liter per hour)
200 ml per hour
What pressure will the dosing pump be expected to meter fluid into? (BAR)
The tank is directly above the borehole, 1 bar max
What is the voltage? (AC or DC)
Normal house mains – AC 220v
The Correct and most economical DOSECO pump model for the above inquiry would be either the SMAX 3/7 (E) or the most popular SMAX 6/5 (E).
MOC Reason:- The (SM) Stepper Motor Pump is an (A) AC 220v unit with a (X) PVC pump head and the (E) EPDM seals, which are all recommended for 12.5% Caustic (Sodium Hydroxide)
FLOW/PRESSURE SELECTION Reason: The 3/7 pump will operate at 30% of the stepper frequency, so it will run whisper-quiet. Also, the minimum flow setting could be around 200ml per hour. The 3/7 will operate efficiently at just 30ml per hour, so at a setting of just 6%, this pump will accurately dose the 200ml per hour. However, if the contractor has miscalculated, there is enough room to set the pump higher to 33%. The 3/7 will produce much higher flow at only 1 Bar, so the contractor will need room to maneuver.
The 6/5 is the most-purchased unit by water treatment professionals because it offers a broad range of flow/pressure options. (Ideal for a one model fits most applications point of view) At 1 Bar, the 6/5 will produce 8 liters per hour at 100% and just 80 ml per hour at 1%.
The 6/5 Stepper motor design will accurately dose the 200ml at a setting of just 3%, and if the setting needs to be 1 liter per hour, it will set to 12.5%; one will not even hear the unit operating.
DOSECO Compact Dosing Pump Model SMAY 6/5 (V) LC
The DOSECO Compact Digital Dosing Pump is capable of exceptional accuracy in the range of 60 ml to 6 liters per hour at 5 Bar line pressure
This configuration is typical of a concentrated Sodium Hypochlorite dosing application. The chemical is being dosed at a rate of anything between 500 ml and 3 liters per hour. The water line runs at 3 or 4 Bar pressure.
This unit is equipped with a switch-plug option.
The switch can be a float switch, which will stop the pump should the acid level in the supply tank drop to empty.
The switch can also be used to stop and start the pump remotely via a controller or a timer or a remote manual switch.
